The Bhatt's have been promoting the album as being the best debut soundtrack from a duo since the Nadeem-Shravan composed soundtrack for the 1990 released film Ashiqui.

The Ashiqui soundtrack went on to become one of Bollywood's best selling albums, so with this comparison the Bhatt's have risen expectations.

Sharib-Toshi's First Album

Brothers Sharib Sabri and Toshi Sabri became an overnight sensation with the Rock Number Mahi from the film Raaz 2. The soundtrack for Jashnn is the duo's first full album.

The album opens with the dance track Nazrein Karam, with this song Sharib-Toshi create enough energy to potentially create a storm on the dance floor. However although the singers give an amicable performance and you can't help but move to the rhythm there is nothing special here, the arrangements are nothing new, it feels all too familiar and in the end we are left with just another typical dance track.

From listening to the song Mahi we know that the duo can produce good soft Rock music. With the second song of the album Aaya re Sharib-Toshi prove they were not just a one hit wonder. K.K gives a rendition that immediately catches ones attention. The music starts off slowly, picks up pace as it moves along and eventually turns into a complete Rock track. K.K's powerful voice teamed with Shreya Ghoshal's heartfelt tone ads another layer. This song will definitely be a chart buster.

Dard-e-Tanhai and Main Chala Are The Best Hindi Tracks of 2009

If you thought that it would take a while before the duo produced a track better than Mahi then think again. Dard-e-Tanhai and Main Chala are easily the best songs of 2009 and will definitely be on our play lists for a long time.

The songs create a romantic mood from the very first note. The arrangements from a Piano combined with a Guitar and the vocals of Nouman Javaid create powerful melodies. Sharib-Toshi definitely hit the right chords with these tracks. It seems these two songs were on the producers mind when they compared the duo to Nadeem-Shravan. There is also a remix version of both tracks. Thankfully the remixes enhance the experience.

Tere Bin is the weakest track from Jashnn, it feels like a song taken straight out of the early 90's. This song should have been left out of the album. However Sharib Toshi end the album with a high note. With Aish Karle the duo give us another addictive rock track.

2009 has not been a good year for Bollywood music, apart from A R Rahman's soundtracks for Slumdog Millionaire and Delhi 6 all other releases have been mediocre. Sharib-Toshi should be proud of their first album as with Jashnn They have raised the bar for future music directors. Looks like A R Rahman's domination over the 2009 Bollywood charts will finally come to an end.
